Course Reserves FAQs for the Veterinary Medical Library
Books - To place a Purdue Libraries book on reserve for a specific course, please fill in the online request form for each title. (Multiple copies of the same edition need only one form). Please fill out each form as completely as possible – author, title, edition, name of publisher and date, and call number.
· An instructor’s personal copy may be placed on reserve. However, the Library does not assume responsibility for damage or loss. A card pocket will be glued into personal books, and a bar code affixed.
Media – To place a Purdue Libraries media title on reserve for a specific course, please fill in the online request form for each title. Please fill out each form as detailed in the Book section above.
· An instructor’s personal media item may be placed on reserve providing it is a legally acquired/purchased copy or contains only non-copyrighted course related information. However, the Library does not assume responsibility for damage or loss. A card pocket will be glued onto personal media cases, and a bar code affixed.
Those who prefer to send their reserve requests via email should cut and paste a book or CD’s item record from the Libraries’ online catalog into an e-mail message to Tonya Wichterman. Requests sent via email must include course name & number.
Reserve books and media may be checked out for a two hour period, during which they may be taken outside the Library. All Reserve books Must be returned to the Library prior to close. Reserve items may not be checked out overnight.
Due to copyright restrictions, we can allow only a single copy of a journal article on file. We normally don't accept photocopies of book chapters for reserve.

Books & Media: Requests should be in at least three (3) weeks before the semester begins. Books & media currently on the shelf will be processed within 2 working days; books or media that must be recalled will take longer to retrieve and process.
