The Periodical Collection is made up of journals and magazines. Older issues are bound into books. These bound periodicals are located on the 4th floor. They are shelved alphabetically by title. The current periodicals are located in the Current Periodicals Area on the main floor in alphabetical order by title. Bound periodicals check out for two days and current periodicals can be checked out for two hours.
To find articles in periodicals you will need to use databases and indexes either in print or online. On the Libraries' Home Page, click on the Articles tab. Click on the link Change Quickset, and select Life Sciences. Type your search term in the box and you will retrieve scholarly article citations, some with access to full text articles.
The Life Sciences Library keeps limited newspapers. The Newspaper Rack is on the main floor, in the Group Study Area.
We subscribe to the New York Times in print, and only keep the most current week. The Libraries subscribes to many newspapers. Others, including some international newspapers, are available full-text online using Lexis-Nexis. Check the Libraries' online catalog for the location of back issues of newspapers.
