ATTENTION: We are currently in the process of moving to our new website located at http://www.lib.purdue.edu/.
Please make note of this and update your bookmarks accordingly. We apologize for any inconvience.
The Technical Reports and Government Document area is located in the basement across from the stairs. Technical reports in the Siegesmund Engineering Library come in 4 major formats:
Technical Reports are generally checked out manually and are available for loan for up to 16 weeks for faculty, staff, and students. (Loan time is subject to change upon a recall request.)
The print reports are located in the Technical Reports Area of the basement. You can see a list of some of our major holdings here. Reports in microform are in the microform area, and can be found in the gray file cabinets along the side of the Technical Reports Area. Technical reports, both in print and microform, are arranged alphabetically by the issuing agency and then by report number. There are some exceptions to this arrangement including AIAA.
Note: The microfiche reader/printer is located to the right of the microfiche in the basement. We also have a reader/printer located on the first floor near the circulation desk.
Most of the Technical Reports collection is not in the catalog. If you need help finding a tech report, please ask at the information desk or at the Francis Christmans' office (Rm 171 on the first floor.)
If you cannot locate the tech report you need you can order your report online. Please fill out as much information as you can. We will perform a search to make sure that we do not have the report in the library. Then we will decide if the Engineering Library wishes to purchase the report or if you will need to contact Interlibrary Loan. You will be contacted by email when the report is available. You should receive a response to your order request within a few days.
To find more information on searching technical report indexes online, databases that include full text, and other helpful links please see the Technical Reports Guide.
